Lighthouse Learning Webinar: PrEP/PEP 101

This training provides an introduction to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), a highly effective HIV prevention strategy that can significantly reduce the risk of acquiring HIV when taken as prescribed. Participants will learn the basics of how PrEP works, who may benefit from it, available medication options, and current recommendations for accessing and using PrEP as part of a comprehensive approach to sexual health. Throughout the training, we will explore common misconceptions and barriers to PrEP use, with particular attention to the needs of diverse communities disproportionately impacted by HIV. Participants will gain practical knowledge about PrEP screening, adherence, monitoring, and linkage to care, as well as strategies for discussing PrEP in a supportive, nonjudgmental, and culturally responsive manner. By the end of the training, attendees will be better equipped to educate others about PrEP, increase awareness of HIV prevention options, and support individuals in making informed decisions about their sexual health and well-being.
