Director of Capacity Building and Community Mobilization (California)
People with lived experience of substance use, incarceration, houselessness, and/or sex work; people of color, women, and members of the LGB/TGNC+ communities; and people living with HIV/AIDS and/or hepatitis C are strongly encouraged to apply.
Who We Are
National Harm Reduction Coalition is a nationwide team of passionate humans who share a vision for a world that is healing from harms caused by racialized drug policies. We’re located from coast-to-coast and represent a full spectrum of lived and professional experience.
What We Do
Our work is to uplift the voices and experiences of people who use drugs, change the stigmatizing narrative about people who use drugs, and bring harm reduction strategies to scale.

Work-Life Balance
Start out with 20 days of vacation time, 12 sick days, and 12 national holidays with paid time off.
Our offices are closed from December 25 to January 1 with additional paid time off for all staff.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we celebrate summer Fridays and close at 2 p.m. local time. And we celebrate Juneteenth!

Our New York office is in the booming Flatiron district of Manhattan with easy access to public transportation.
Our Oakland office is in the heart of downtown near public transportation and is just three stops on BART from San Francisco.
