Lighthouse Learning Webinar: Hepatitis C Prevention for LGB/TGNC Individuals and Community
This training will provide a comprehensive overview of hepatitis C (Hep C) prevention, with a focus on the unique needs and experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual (LGB), transgender, gender nonconforming, and nonbinary (TGNCNB) communities. Participants will learn about the fundamentals of Hep C transmission, risk factors, screening recommendations, diagnosis, treatment options, and strategies for prevention. Throughout the training, we will explore the social, structural, and health-related factors that contribute to increased Hep C risk among LGB and TGNCNB populations. We will also examine evidence-based harm reduction approaches and discuss how these strategies can support overall health and well-being. In addition, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of routine Hep C testing, the importance of timely linkage to care and treatment, and best practices for creating affirming, inclusive healthcare and service environments. By the end of the training, attendees will be better equipped to support Hep C prevention efforts, reduce barriers to care, and provide culturally responsive services that promote positive health outcomes for LGB and TGNCNB individuals.
