COVID Vaccine Office Hours Part 2: Harm Reduction Programs

Join us for a 2-part Office Hours series on the COVID Vaccine and how it relates to harm reduction work and harm reduction community.

The second session will be on March 31st, 4-5:30 ET. This session will be dedicated to highlighting how harm reduction programs have dealt with COVID-19 vaccination for themselves and their participants. There are many questions and concerns regarding the COVID-19 vaccine and how it will impact the most marginalized in our communities, especially people who use drugs and BIPOC folks. NHRC will hold space for those concerns and offer conversation in a webinar series dedicated to the Covid-19 vaccine.

In this second session, we will include panelists from Harm Reduction programs that are already working to address both access for their participants that want the vaccine AND support those that are not ready or do not want the vaccine using a harm reduction approach. This session will focus on how to support participants across this spectrum without adding further stigma on people who used drugs especially those who are wary of taking the vaccine. This includes emphasizing alternative risk reduction strategies for those who are currently unvaccinated.
