Panel Description: This panel will delve into the historical context of harm reduction in the continental United States and Puerto Rico, spotlighting the significant and historical contributions made by Latinx/é people, Caribeñes, and those in the diaspora. It will also address current issues affecting our communities within the movement. We will trace the evolution of harm reduction practices, from grassroots efforts in local communities to broader policy changes influenced by Latinx/é and Caribeñe activists. Additionally, this panel will address ongoing challenges, including invisibility despite significant numbers, systemic barriers, and health inequities, while celebrating the resilience and innovation of Latinx/é and Caribeñe harm reductionists. Through these discussions, we aim to honor the past, understand the present, and inspire future efforts in harm reduction.

Descripción del panel: Este panel profundizará en el contexto histórico de la reducción de daños en los Estados Unidos continentales y Puerto Rico, destacando las contribuciones históricas y significativas realizadas por los pueblos latinos/é, caribeños y aquellos en la diáspora. También abordará problemas actuales que afectan a nuestras comunidades dentro del movimiento.
