Foundational Fridays- Hepatitis C 101
This 2 -hour webinar is a part of our Foundational Fridays Series taking place every last Friday of the month from 12pm – 2pm EST, from July 2025 – June 2026.
This webinar will provide an essential overview of HIV and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), including key information on transmission, prevention, testing, and treatment. The session will offer participants a foundational understanding of both HIV and HCV, while also emphasizing the importance of a harm reduction approach when engaging with individuals who use drugs.
Participants will learn how to foster open, empathetic conversations with program participants or clients about HIV and Hepatitis C, prioritizing non-judgmental, supportive communication. The training will focus on using harm reduction strategies to meet individuals where they are, acknowledging their experiences, and addressing the unique challenges they face in relation to these viral infections.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to clearly explain how HIV and Hepatitis C are transmitted and discuss effective prevention strategies. Additionally, they will gain an understanding of how chronic HIV and Hepatitis C can impact the body, as well as familiarize themselves with the testing and treatment options available. Emphasis will be placed on providing participants with the tools to support individuals in accessing care and reducing risks through compassionate, informed, and evidence-based practices.
