On Thursday, March 28, Harm Reduction Coalition launched the HepConnect initiative. This groundbreaking initiative seeks to address the intersection of hepatitis C and drug use through grant-making and community mobilization in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, and West Virginia. HepConnect was launched at a POLITICO hosted event Opioid Misuse, Hepatitis C and HIV: An Emerging Crisis, and featured Harm Reduction Coalition’s Executive Director, Monique Tula and distinguished guest, Donald Davis from Kentucky Harm Reduction Coalition.

Following the HepConnect launch, Harm Reduction Coalition’s Deputy Director of Planning and Policy, Daniel Raymond, sat down with Donald Davis of Kentucky Harm Reduction Coalition, to discuss what HepConnect would mean for people for people who use drugs in Kentucky. Donald has been working in harm reduction and hepatitis C related initiatives in Kentucky for decades.

“There are very few Hep C services in Kentucky. We are one of the leaders nationally in Hep C infections! I’m honored to join Monique Tula during the launch with Gilead in Washington DC to express how important new resources are for the state of Kentucky to end hepatitis C.” – Donald Davis, Kentucky Harm Reduction Coalition & distinguished guest at the national HepConnect launch
