DESCRIPTION:In this training, we will explore the impact of trauma on both individuals and the providers who support them. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how trauma can affect emotional well-being, behavior, relationships, and engagement with services, as well as the ways in which secondary or vicarious trauma can influence professionals working in helping roles. We will also examine the principles of a healing-centered approach, which moves beyond addressing trauma alone to focus on strengths, hope, cultural identity, and overall well-being. Through discussion and practical application, participants will learn strategies to foster healing, empowerment, and resilience in themselves and those they serve.
