training programs.

on a consultant basis for your agency. If you are interested

need-specific trainings) to your agency, please contact Rebecca Stryjewski, National Training Coordinator, Tel. 212.683.2334x18 Email: stryjewski@harmreduction.org,

for travel expenses.
Training Content & Format
Curricula and Sessions: HRTI
curriculum continually evolves to reflect developments in practice.
We offer regularly scheduled trainings at our centers in New
York, San Francisco and Oakland; trainings are also developed
specific to group needs and delivered on-site. Longer training
sessions usually culminate in a strategy session to develop steps
that your community or agency might take toward your chosen goals.
Trainers are also available to deliver conference presentations
or workshops.
HRTI
offers two kinds of workshops:
Training
Workshops are skills-based and are designed to promote practical
skills, facilitate rapid applications in direct practice, and
to transfer cutting-edge technologies in working with drug users.
Educational Workshops are knowledge-based and are designed to promote new
ways of understanding an issue related to drug-related harm,
present new research findings on a topic area, and to enhance
critical thinking about contemporary social problems.
The following are examples of previous trainings. These are placed within the context
of harm reduction philosophy and practice. See schedule
for current classes or contact
HRTI for consultant-based trainings on a specific area of
interest.
