Many people drink alcohol to relax, enjoy friends and family, and to cope with social, life, or work- related anxiety. Unlike other drugs people use for some of the same reasons, alcohol is cheap, legal, and culturally acceptable. If you have HIV, hepatitis C, or are coinfected with both, you may want to think about how often and how much you drink, and consider the overall effects of alcohol on your health and quality of life.
