Overdose Awareness and Remembrance Day San Francisco

On International Overdose Awareness Day and Remembrance Day, please join Harm Reduction Coalition’s DOPE Project to celebrate the courage and resilience of people who use drugs in San Francisco, and remember all the people lost to the racist, classist violence of the war on drugs.

Civic Center Commons
149-199 Fulton St, San Francisco, CA 94102
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
August 31st, 2017

We will gather on Civic Center Commons to remember those we have lost to overdose, and other fatal consequences of the war on drugs, and to honor the 3,000 lives saved by our community in San Francisco since 2003.

We will provide space to share stories and contribute to our living altar that we have been building for several years as a memorial to the people we’ve lost. Food and naloxone will be provided.

These are dark, difficult, dangerous times. Each time we come together in solidarity in public spaces to show our faces and stand up to hate, stigma, the white supremacist war on drugs, and all the other manifestations of social injustice and terrorism is another blow to their power to intimidate.
