William Matthews is a Physician Assistant and has worked with Harm Reduction Coalition’s Overdose Prevention Program since 2008. His activities include dispensing naloxone at syringe exchange programs and assisting organizations register with the New York State Opioid Overdose Prevention Program. In addition to his work with overdose, he has worked in Primary Care and Internal Medicine in settings as diverse as hospitals and mobile medical vans, and continues to work in a homeless shelter clinic one morning a wee. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Mr. Matthews was a classical guitarist, with performances ranging from the Metropolitan Opera to solo concerts as a ‘cultural ambassador’ for the State Department in over 75 countries. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Biology.
