Christopher Collazo

Christopher Collazo has, for over a decade, worked to improve the lives of PLWHA, PWUD, PWID and those affected by the racialized war on drugs. With a specialty in the intersectionality of LGBTQI+ identity, Poverty, Drug Use and Homeliness; Christopher has been a pioneer in his advocacy work for LGBTQI+ communities. With over 10+ years of harm reduction experience, Christopher has overseen many of the vital services that have allowed some of NYC’s most vulnerable populations to navigate the complex systems of services while advocating for equitable access for.  Christopher uses his extensive background in nonprofit leadership and management to work with organization and government officials to address the needs of LGBTQI+ drug users. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate holding a degree in Human Services and Psychodynamic Modality and most recently graduated in 2017 Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Social Welfare and Policy. Christopher is also the receiver of the Dr. Frank Castro Jr Award of Masters in Human Services Excellence and the Roberto Clamente Award for Academic Excellence. Christopher currently serves on the NYS LGBT Health and Human Services Network.
