Carolina M. López joined Harm Reduction Coalition in 2015 as the Director of Finance. She oversees all aspects of Harm Reduction Coalition’s finances, including budgeting, contracts compliance, program and organizational audits, and financial report analysis and forecasting. Carolina has actively served the nonprofit community for over 15 years, most recently as the Executive Director of New York Harm Reduction Educators (NYHRE), which houses the largest syringe exchange on the East Coast. She is a strong proponent of a human rights-based approach to drug use and is dedicated to facilitating public health strategies that aim to counter the damage inflicted by the war on drugs and draconian legislation that has resulted in the mass incarceration of marginalized communities. Carolina has an extensive background in direct service, operations and executive management with specializations in organizational development and restructuring, change management, strategic planning and technology implementation. Carolina has Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience from Oberlin College.
